Outerbanks is known as one of the longest beach sites situated on the east coast of United states. Although one can see numerous beaches and opt for a lot of beach activites such as Jet Skiing and Para Sailing (both the activities I tried for the first time in my life and the experience was awesome), the one thing that should not go amiss are the virgin beaches. The best bet to check the virgin beaches is Hatteras and if you are willing to take a 45 minutes ferry ride then go ahead and check out the inhabited (protected) island of Ocracoke . The ferry ride itself is very beautiful and ofcourse you'll hardly see too much crowd and a longggggggggggggggg shoreline as your only "private beach". Best time to Visit: May-end to September. (if you want to avoid the summer rush May-end or a non- long weekend is a good option).
