Feb 20, 2009 Devils Lake, North Dakota is a fishermans paradise if you are looking to hook some of the larger northern species wich perfer cooler waters. This natural lake occupies a large basin and is home to Northern Pike Muskie as well as some very nice Walleye. If you go early in the morning you may see a moose down at the shore. Across the lake from town is a Sioux Reservation with a casino and Camp Gilbert C. Grafton (North Dakota National Gaurd) is located on a penninsula in the lake in between the two. Canada is about 80 miles due north. The lake has no natural outlet, therefore the water level is constantly rising. On some parts of Camp Grafton you can see the tops of telephone poles submerged in the lake about 50 feet or so off shore!!!!!
