It's wicked ! Resteraunts, cotton candy (the best :D), stamps, games, even a fun place for kids. They care for the animals really well. How do I know? When I was six, my dad, who is a proffessor of biology and has access to the back, took me behind everithing to the place for sick or very young animals are kept. That's how I know. That zoo has the best gift shop in the history of gift shops!

Wear comfortable walking shoes as this place is not flat! The exhibits are nice and the animals are happy. Cool days are best in summer to see the animals. It can be much cooler and windier at the zoo than it is in downtown portland so bring a jacket. In december, Zoo Lights is a must see! The park is transformed at night with thousands of Christmas lights! Truly breathtaking. This is one of the better zoos I have been to.

This Zoo is OK for being in Oregon. I mean, its no San Diego Zoo, but what is? When I went there they let me climb into the polar bear cage and feed them. It was great. But in hindsight, that might have been a little dangerous and probley a bad time to wear flip flops

We took a day to visit the Portland Zoo with the kids and it was FANTASTIC!!! The exhibits were amazing and enjoyable not just for kids, but for adults as well. Take time out for a visit and you'll be glad that you did.

I had a wonderful time there! They have different exotic animals to see, different food and drink to enjoy, & they have different fields to enjoy (forest, drylands, caves, & open field)
