NK town beach is a great place to swim with small children simply because it is really shallow and generally quite safe, but the best time to go is at night when you don't plan on swimming. My mom and I always go to Subway, get some sandwiches, then go down to NK beach and eat while watching the sunset, then go for a walk along the beach. If that's not a good dinner, then I'm not sure what is.
