From the Jack Daniel's official website: " The Jack Daniel Distillery – the oldest registered distillery in the U.S. – is where it all happens. It’s where Mr. Jack first crafted the recipe for Old No. 7. It’s where the pure, iron-free cave spring water flows. And it’s where every drop of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Sippin’ Whiskey is still made today."

I drove pretty far out of the way just to visit the Jack Daniel Distillery and it was worth it! I assumed it was a paid entrance and was pleasantly surprised that the tour was free. The tour guides were incredible, and it was truly amazing to see how much of an art the whiskey making process is. It's hard to believe that all of the Jack Daniel's shipped all around the world was created in Lynchburg....that's a lot of whiskey for such a small town! (And in a dry county at that! Unreal) I enjoyed the whole tour but really loved the malting floor - the smell of whiskey being made was fantastic!

TAKE THE TOUR!!!
I've been to a number of bourbon distilleries and Jack Daniels Distillery's tour is the best. It is very informative and you get to tour their entire grounds. They take you every step of the way and it's very hands on at times.
Plus it's the only place you can buy Jack Daniels in the county since it's still a dry county.
And yes, I know, Jack Daniels is not bourbon. It would be if they didn't do the final charcoal filtering that gives it a smoother taste.

Always good to go to the home of Jack!! Good tour round the place. Found out that as a hangover from the Prohibition you can't legally drink in the county of Lynchburg how weird is that when they make one of most popular drinks in world there!

They give a pretty decent tour of their huge facility. You can also buy a lot of vintage stuff. I bought a 1982 (Year I was born) Single Barrel. They have fairly good prices, too.
