Nov 15, 2009 You've gotta check out the stockyards. This was one of the southwest's largest cattle stock trading center and also a hub for beef production and distribution in the 19th century. The present day stockyards are more like an outdoor museum. If you go there on Friday and Saturday nights, you can also catch the good old Rodeo. In addition, they have an annual festival where they re-enact life on the trail, with a full fledged cattle drive right down the main street there... Sep 13, 2008 Check it out - it's lamost like in the good ol' west. Authentic saloons crowded with "modern" Cowboys with live music. I met many interesting and very friendly individuals and had definitely too much beers and "brown nipple" shots (whatever on earth they put in that glas - it tastes great but it's deadly. However, you won't realsize it before the next day...;-) Feb 6, 2012 If you like the Old West and historical places, the Stockyards might be your kind of place. Great for the family during the daytime, but unless your a hardy partier, avoid it at night, especially weekend nights. There are several bars/taverns in the area, and things do get a little Wild West, if you know what I mean. Sep 26, 2009 Fun to see the longhorns so up close and personal. If you love country music Billy Bob's is the largest honkey tonk bar around. It's complete with all your favorite hand prints on the wall, I went strait for Keith Urban! A fun place for the cowboy and cowgirl inside.
