Oct 28, 2008 I have been to this memorial many times. My last visit was with my two sons. I still find it a moving memorial. The United States Marine Corp Memorial is a fitting and inspirational tribute to the service members of the United States Marine Corp. It was inspired by a photograph taken on the island of Iwo Jima during World War II. For me, it portrays patriotism, determination, love of freedom, love of country, and sacrifice in a poignant manner that typifies a U.S. Marine. Again, it is moving, beautiful to see and experience. Good journeys! May 29, 2011 I think this is a really cool statue that unfortunately, a lot of people don't give credit to my hometown of Arlington for having, and instead attribute it to DC. Even though it's right across the river from DC, it's still in Arlington. Anyway, it's definitely worth seeing. Oct 9, 2009 Amazing monument that towers above you. I never realized the size and magnitude of this monument until I visited.
