Jul 15, 2010 Everyone mentions that this is a great place for kids. True enough, yet children will enjoy just about any zoo and park. Point Defiance is ADULT friendly for... the kid in us! The entrance to the park with it's wide span of Botanical and Floral Gardens lends a beautiful atmosphere for social gatherings such as weddings, birthday celebrations, family picnics and the park is large enough to find that quiet little zen within on a solo visit. The zoo's layout takes you on a comfortable nature walk atop paved trails. For the most part it is accessible for wheelchair travelers, as well there are rental scooters available (some stairs in areas - I believe they can be bypassed via a paved trail though it's best to call the zoo for verification of accessibility). The shark and fish tank lagoon, the puffins, polar bears... The 5 mile drive on the perimeter that can be driven by car, cycled, safely jogged or walked, and hiking trails... offering gorgeous views of the Puget Sound and access to the beach for more hiking, swimming, boat access at the marina... camp grounds too. Have no doubts about this one being worthy of the experience. Point Defiance is a must see. Sep 2, 2008 Its such a great park. It has Never Neverland for the younger kids to play. Fort Nisqually whitch is very fun to explore. It has a beautiful orential garden but most of all the beautiful trees that you can explore and a small beach to the Pudget Sound. Aug 29, 2009 I have always loved Point Defiance zoo and aquarium.. its the best place to go for lil kids.
