Dane County Farmers Market is one of the best things about Madison. Lots of great food, flowers and fun, all locally produced. Go early in the morning to beat the heat, and check out booths just outside the square as well.

If you can't make the Saturday market at the Capitol, there are markets throughout Madison and nearby towns throughout the week as well
