CFD is a week of Outdoor Rodeo and Carnival. If you have never been to one, it is a new experience (The Rodeo, that is). Every night is either a concert or some other special event.
The cons to CFD are the price for everything (major attraction in Cheyenne), the sameness from year to year, and the fact that it's during the hottest part of the year. One special note is that this is considered one of the cruelest rodeos in the world, and is a major source of contention with PETA and other activist groups.
Summary: Worth going to at least once.
