An elaborate palace/temple/tomb complex found about 20 mins outside Hue. Much of the complex is still intact (there are a few ruins) and the temple is still in use. One of the highlights is the artificial lake and island where the emperor kept his collection of exotic pets. This is a nice quiet, parklike place to get away from the crowds at the main attractions in Hue, probably best with a guide who can point out all the details.
