Talietumu
About Talietumu
Talietumu is one of two main archaeological sites on Wallis Island. It is consists of fortified Tongan settlements that were established in the 15th century by Tongan invaders. It ended up being the last holdout of the Tongans before they were driven off the island. Unlike Tonga Tota, it is well restored and has not been overgrown by the vines and jungle. There is a long fortress wall that runs for several km, but that is mostly destroyed.
