Tonga Tota is an archaeological site on Wallis Island that contains the remains of Tongan settlements dating back to the 15th century invasions.  Tonga Tota translates into “the blood of Tongans” in reference to the bloody ferocity of these invasions.  The site itself is fairly remote, being about 2.5 km down a side track, and is now largely overgrown with vines and surrounded by chestnut trees.  You can find shards of ancient pottery in the stone king’s path (the king’s feet were not allowed to touch the ground) and explore these large ruins.
