The park is open all year round. But dont even think about to visit this place during rainy season. Many roads are closed during rainy season and inaccessable. Animals tend to spend the rainy season in the flooded North.

We have seen 0 animals due to the wrong season, but apparantly it sould be one of the top parks in Zambia. Make sure to bring a GPS along, as there a no signs to the park.

Spent a week on walking safari in Kafue in August.  Saw abundant wildlife and met some memorable people.  Excellent compliment to a driving safari (e.g. Mfuwe).  Our time in Kafue was a real highlight.

Huge Nationalpark but only good to visit in dry season
