South Luangwa National Park
About South Luangwa National Park
Brilliant place to see wild life without the masses. I was able to work and help at Chongwe River Camp for a month and got to see how much I was part of the food chain. Enter from the Chongwe River camp. I canoed there with a safari group.

Oct 13, 2008 South Luangwa is a wildlife paradise. Camping there is a thrill - literally, as you may have Elephants or Hippos or other big creatures wandering past your tent while you sleep. The animals there are also different species than further north. An example being the Zebra and Giraffe in Luangwa are different (and look different) than the ones in the Serengeti. Access to the park is difficult, if not impossible, during the rainy season due to poor roads. Jan 14, 2009 South Luangwa is one of my favorit National Parks in Southern Africa. They are a few upmarket lodges inside the park, campsite and budget accommodation are "outside" the park. Remember that there are no fences around the park so you have a good chance to meet with elephants, giraffes and hippos while you are asleep. The scenery is great and you have a good chance to see leopards. For my opinion the access to the park was quite easy even during rainy season.
