Mcburn's Travelogue

Destination Nepal
by Alburn A. (in Seremban on May 09, 11)
I only manage to be here at "gekogo.com" yesterday. I will try to recall my traveling destination from many years back. I will try to upload some photos, from my old SLR or pocket camera. Some photos may look old and a little bit faded maybe.
I start of with my trip to Nepal.

Nepal (Visited on March 14 2001 - March 30 2001)
Visiting Nepal is the least in the mind of most travelers unless you are an avid mountaineers. I was rather skeptical about this  thing, going to Nepal. It was way back in 2001 where Nepal is under the reign of King Gayendra. Most of us know little about Nepal then, especially the security, accommodation and the state of affair from food to political situation. What we know about Nepal, is the first place you must be, in order to ascend the majestic Everest. Unless you are an avid mountaineers,if not you have no reason to be in Nepal and that is our perception about Nepal.   Though I am not a mountaineer so with my other team member, but we are going to Nepal to view Everest and the Himalayan in real life. Though Everest and the Himalayan is located over 100 kilometers from Kathmandu the capital city of Nepal, that will be fine. If we all are lucky enough we would be  able to experience a close up on the crown of Everest. Of course we are not going to climb up, but normally there will be an airplane to fly us up on top of Everest where we would be able to view Everest few hundred meters away. But this depend on the weather and if any flight available during our stay in Nepal.

(My picture at the Yat & Yeti Hotel in Kathmandu. Located at an outdoor area on the left hand side of  the lobby of the Hotel. Foot mark print on the boulder, are claimed to be the food print of a Yeti - the elusive snowman. This is what the hotel staff told us)
I will update more about Nepal.
