Four hours later we were standing on the side of the road with our packs looking at the Trisuli River wondering where exactly the white water rapids were. We had to leave our big packs there and only bring our valuables with us…the big bags would be put on a..(More)

More time on the train. This time to Beijing. Customs was similar on the Mongolian side. On the Chinese side we had to have our bogies (wheels) changed, as the track gage is different. I was the most nervous about the Chinese border than any others. We arrived at the station and music was playing. Arrived in Beijing in the morning. Went to the hotel and showered. Went on a city walk before going to dinner. Peking duck is amazing! Started to get sick, so didn't eat much. Next day went to..(More)

Since then they have all been closed so we were really lucky to get through. There is a LOT of damage - many people have lost their homes which is really sad and in some places the water along the highway was really deep (we drove through it but lots of people..(More)
