We decided to hire a 4X4 to go and explore Vietnam's northern provinces.

Mr Ha, our driver, came to pick us up at 8am from our hotel in the Old Quarter.
Our first destination was the small village of Mai Chau, home of the White Thai people. Nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains, this idyllic village is a popular place with tourists wanting to do a homestay. We found a lovely traditional house on stilts to spend the night, then we headed for the nearby rice fields and villages..(More)
