Jul 2, 2010 My love for anything dumpling is a pretty public affair, so it's no surprise when I found out these guys are supposed to make some pretty solid Xiao Long Baos (shanghai steamed dumplings) that I jumped at the chance to go with friends. This is certainly no high class establishment, as evidenced by the orange walls, but who cares about the decor if the food is good? My friends and I ordered: 2 orders of Xiao Long Baos, one order of snow pea shoots (diao miu), braised lion's head, deluxe dian dian mein, and some fried tofu. The absolute standout were the Xiao Long Baos. They are made fresh to order -- you can watch the lady make them through the glass panel -- and they have some of the thinnest wrappers I've seen. They are so thin, that you can see the little pockets of liquid goodness held inside as you pick them up with your chopstocks. The moist, soupy dumplings arrive at just the right temperature, and were SO GOOD that we ordered thirds. The rest of the food was good, but it's just hard to compare with the dumplings. I highly recommend going just for those dumplings.
