Phnom Penh has been around for ever, but I only had the chance to try it recently. This Vietnamese/Cambodian restaurant is located on a quiet street in Chinatown but boy does it get packed! I arrived at 5:00pm for dinner and by 5:30 every table in the room was packed.

Based on recommendations, we ordered the butter beef (thin carpaccio slices of beef with a lime/fish sauce/shallot dressing), their fried chicken wings (with a nice garlic taste), deep fried squid, some veggies and beef. The food was served fast and all of it tasted really good. Prices were reasonable - about $15-$20 a person. Definitely worth a visit!

Update: I came back a second time and ordered from their Vietnamese menu. Very disappointing! Stick with the Cambodian menu if you come.

So-so Vietnamese food, very good Cambodian food. If you come in the winter, dress warm especially if you get seated near the front. Every time someone came in, nice icy breeze hits you (and we were a few tables from the front).
