My friend Laura and I had talked about going to tea for ages (but not getting around to it), so I was pleasantly surprised when she had booked us Afternoon Tea at the Hotel Vancouver Fairmont as our joint birthday presents. We sat down for tea on a Sunday and it was a lovely experience. The tea was good (I had earl grey with lavender, she had orange pekoe), as were the sandwiches and pastries. We both found the mango mousse pastry a little bit sweet, and in the end, couldn't finish it all, but what a great setting and a fun afternoon!
