I had long heard about this place from a friend - billed as his favourite restaurant. I finally got a chance to check it out years later and it really lived up to expectations. What I really like about The Foundation is that the food is not only healthy, it's delicious and the portions are great. You aren't going to get overloaded on carbs here. There is a lot of emphasis on fresh vegetables and fruits, a lot of healthy grains, not too many carbs, all mixed together in delicious combinations. Their appetizer platter features a good combination of items from hummus to yam dip and mango salad to a yummy cereal mix. Prices are very reasonable, ranging from $6.95 to around $13. Only drawback is that the service is really really slow. The restaurant is a bit understaffed so the poor wait staff runs around like crazy. Worth the wait, but plan accordingly.

This is one of the best deals in town!Great portions. Open VERY late, perfect for a late night snack (meal) with friends.I like coming here after sporting events, or concerts. I also avoid the crowd and get pretty quick service as a result.GET THE APPY PLATTER! It's huge and only around 12$. More than enough for 2.

Summary - Food and atmosphere were terrific. Service is really, really slow. This was the first vegetarian restaurant I'd been to and was definitely skeptical. Far from disappointed! Wish I was staying longer in Vancouver to sample different things on the menu. Note to self: see if they do pickup orders :)

Excellent vegetarian food at a very affordable price. Some highlights include the Satay Salad and the Tight Spin (Goat cheese, pears, and vegetables). There can be a significant wait for a table and service is often slow.
