Jun 26, 2007 Niagara Falls must be in the running for meat-eating capital of North America. Everywhere you look, there are Steakhouses. Given that we were on the Canadian side of the border, we wanted to go to the Keg, billed as Canada’s most popular steakhouse. We were in for a treat, as this location, named the Falls Views Restaurant, is exactly as described. Located on the 9 th floor of the Embassy Suites hotel, the restaurant features wall to ceiling windows showcasing both the Canadian and American falls. Lucky for my buddy and I, it was not too crowded that night, and we got a two person table right against the window, where we were treated by the changing lights illuminating the two waterfalls (on until 10:00pm). The ambiance was great -- not too loud, the waitress was friendly, and the food is as you would expect from the Keg. Good quality steaks (we both got prime ribs), accompanied by a large helping of garlic mashed potatoes and fried onions. My only complaint is the lack of veggies. You do get a choice of veggies with the regular steaks, but not the prime rib option. So we ended up ordering the appetizer trio (Szechwan green beans, steamed asparagus and sautéed mushrooms) which was thoroughly delicious, but psychologically for me, would have been better included with the dinner and a correspondingly higher price. Anyway, I won’t complain too much. It was well worth it to go for the good steaks and the view. Imo a much better option than paying to go to some observation tower, elbow-fighting with all the other people vying for the same Kodak spot. By the way, you get free valet parking when you eat at this Keg. Just make sure you get your ticket validated. Jun 22, 2008 Great view, and not usually busy during the day (at least not in the winter).
