Talk about an exclusive place. The restaurant was so obscure that the door was locked when we tried to get in. We had to call to get them to open it from the inside. Add to it the fact that there are no markings on the outside, no indication that it’s a restaurant, and you begin to think you’re embarking on something secret, a bit exclusive, and almost ritualistic. Again, it was GeckoGo-Aaron who found the place. We went there for lunch because we thought there would be no way we could afford dinner. They were just opening (hence the locked door), so not surprisingly, we were the first and only ones there. The menu changes from day to day according to the chef’s whim, and in fact, the menu of the day was still being typed up and delivered to us hot off the printer while we while we were getting seated. The menu is fairly limited, but all the items all sounded delicious. The appetizer salad was a mouthwatering start, and the lobster ravioli main was divine. Cool dining experience.

My boyfriend made reservations for us on my birthday to dine here. While asking around earlier in the trip, not many had heard of or been to the restaurant. This almost made him second guess his choice and opt for something our concierge recommended. On a stroll through Old Montreal, we stumbled upon (and almost missed) the restaurant. One look at the outside and we knew we had to at least try it out.

That quickly changed with the attentive and knowledgeable service, followed by probably the most fantastic meal of my life! Things I would have never before considered ordering became an adventure and a pleasure for my palate. Portions that may have appeared smallish and quaint turned out to be perfectly filling and lingering.

It made for a perfect night of dining and celebration.
