Local
Local restaurant perched up in the hills overlooking the city of San Jose serving traditional Costa Rican cuisine.

The owner is an antiques collector and likes to showcase his work in the restaurant.  You can see collections of old pop cans, cameras a barber's chair and many other items.

This was my second Costa Rican meal ever. For a place that overlooked the city, I was expecting outrageous prices, but you get a great view, pretty good food at prices that seemed inline with everywhere else I ate. I got the traditional plate with chicarrones as my meat, a local specialty of pork that I believe has been cooked in oil. My dish included salad, rice, beans and came to 3800 colones. Great friendly staff too! The whole restaurant is open air (seems to be quite common in Costa Rica), given the location the place can be cold (I ended up keeping my jacket on the whole meal, and also asked for a lot of hot water in my non-existent spanish.) Only pain in the butt thing is that it's far to get to and the food is about as good as what I can get much closer to the city of San Jose. But worth it to go at least once for the view.
