Varadero is a pretty dreadful tourist trap loaded with massive resorts. BUT at Parque Josone, at the little outdoor bar by the water, they make a fantastic pina colada. I actually don't like pina coladas, generally, but this one is delicious. It's made with really creamy coconut milk, fresh shaved pineapple rum, then rimmed with cherry-sugar and topped with freshly grated nutmeg. I have actually driven several hours from Santa Maria del Mar just to drink one of these.
