Giant pretzels and awesome beer served in awe-inspiring 1 litre steins... while this is typical of Bavaria, I found the beer here to be exceptional. While in Munich, head to the Englischergartens and take in all the naked sunbathers in the middle of this city park. I highly recommend travelling in Bavaria by rail... up to 4 adults can use a Bayern-Ticket for 35 Euros for one day's worth of unlimited train travel. I will definetly be returning.

The Augustiner Biergarten serves the best beer in München, in a traditional beer garden environment with wooden benches and chestnut trees.

Very big old city, beautiful Cathedral.
