Hidden located on the first level of the 'palais am festungsgraben' you will find the Tajikistan Tea Room. First this original Tadjikistan style build room was displayed in 1974 on the exhibition in Leipzig. Later on in times of the cold war it was given to the GDR government as a sign of the sowjet-german friendship and they build it into on room of the palais. It has a very special atmosphere here: Come in leave your shoes outside and sit like in 1001 nights on the carpet or pillows on the floor and enjoy one of about 20 different tea what will be typically served with the water whats boiling in a 'samowar'. Some small customary dishes will be served as well. It's maybe hard to find but that's why its even more interesting to relax here with a cup of tea. Tip: Come early sometimes its not possible to find a seat anymore...

Now a few times when I had guest I brought them to this hidden place only insiders know about... and all were amazed. If you are looking for something different - try this. You gonna like the atmosphere sitting on the floor having a cup of tea... Very special!
