Baan Thai Restaurant

The BEST Thai food I have ever eaten! It is an eco-tourism restaurant set in the mangroves. You walk along a approx 200 metre covered boardwalk from the car park to allow viewing of the mangroves. Just be prepared that the curries ie green/red/yellow etc are MUCH hotter than you will be used to in the Thai restaurants at home. TIP - DO NOT ARRIVE AT SUNSET UNLESS YOU LIKE BATS!!!!! At dusk millions (I am not exaggerating) are setting off for their night time jaunts. If like me you don't particularly like bats flying around you (especially if like me you have very long hair) then I suggest arriving before dusk, or after it is completely dark. Usually you can negotiate a great rate from your taxi driver to wait for you the have dinner and take you back to your resort as Baan Thai is quite a way out of town but definitely worth the trip.
