If you aren't much of a shopper and find your cruise ship has docked in Playa del Carmen I suggest Carlos Charlies where "the customer is always wrong". Enjoy some cerveza and tequila but stay away from the mezcal. Just to be safe eat on the ship...

Great authentic mexican food / ask for a drink called FLAMING Cucarcha' ( flaming cockaroach) kaluha and tequila set on fire......drink quick thru straw.....feel your toes tingle............
