Sep 22, 2011 This Tismaree Guestfarm (and golf) is located just outside of the little village of Rietoog, just off of the T-Junction on the MR 47 road, and there is a sign clearly visible from the road . Rehoboth is about an hour away, and this little lodge is worth the extra hour drive (and is on the way anyway) if you are headed to Sossusvlei and Sesriem. It has a very nice central building, complete with a well-equipped kitchen, healthy food, a very sophisticated outdoor barbeque and a nicely decorated bar with ice cold beer. There is a room in the central area with some groceries and some golf equipment; the golf course is a work in progress, but the driving range looks ready to go. There are several individual units, with small porches, large bedrooms, clean and well-functioning bathrooms, and small sitting areas, and the buildings were constructed within the last few years. Rietoog is either a long walk or a short drive away (maybe 3-4 km), and has a school, a bottle shop, what passes for a saloon, and lots of horses, cattle, goats, and many cute little children. The owner Henry Tise is involved with the Namibia ministry of education, and the lodge is used for various functions. Mr. Tise is a very nice and intelligent man who obviously likes golf (and plays it in Windhoek), understands the area, and even pointed out the nearby Rietoog airport (a dirt strip that used to be a race track). This is a little gem that is not mentioned in the tourist guides. Related Links
