I had just arrived in Kigali from New York and on my first night I somehow found my way to Heaven. I was happily surprised to find a restaurant in Kigali that was up to New York's standards. The interior design is innovative and beautiful but still manages to be homey and friendly. During dinner there was live music that was perfect for the serene atmosphere. And the food - I really thought I was in New York when I saw the menu. Goat cheese and lamb quesadilla, peanut and squash soup...all creative and all amazing (I've been back since then to try more!). Don't forget to look at the drink list. My favorite is the Paloma - tequila, lime juice and salt - essentially an unsweetened margarita. 

This restaurant is a must if you are traveling to Kigali! Enjoy!

Heaven is definitely the only Western-quality restaurant I've found in Kigali. Amazing desserts, very solid Continental entrees, nice wine list, so a good place for a splurge - the prices are equivalent to an American restaurant of the same caliber. The servers are very friendly, if a bit raw - it only opened a few months ago. I also loved the fact that most of the food, materials for the building, etc. are locally sourced - great way to support the local economy! Highly recommended for a nice night out in Kigali.
