  The SalmonBar is an up market, yet unpretentious food and wine bar, restaurant, bakery and deli serving salmon and trout from 5 different countries, cured and smoked in 17 different ways - in the Franschhoek Valley !
 
  In the cobbled courtyard, behind the bustle of the main road traffic, Salmon and Trout are carefully matched with greens, homemade sauces, fresh breads (baked at the SalmonBar every day) and wines and champagne for customers to enjoy at the restaurant - or to take home. The journey from pond to plate is showcased in the décor and the staff is ready to share their passion for salmon – from gravadlax and cold smoked salmon to sashimi, tataki and grilled fillets of fresh Scottish salmon.
 
The owners of the SalmonBar, Judy Sendzul and Gregory Stubbs, have long had the vision to take their customers on a Salmon Journey. Their complementary skills, experience and passion for excellence first resulted in a smoked trout pate sold to Old Cape Farm Stall 20 years ago   - today it has delivered the SalmonBar. Judy has had comprehensive experience in the restaurant trade and retail product development and marketing and Greg has led the Three Streams team over the past 20 years.
 
Today Three Stream Smokehouse, in the Franschhoek valley is the country’s leading supplier of smoked and fresh Salmon and Trout products – and exclusive supplier to the SalmonBar. All the local trout farmed in South Africa as well as the Salmon imported from Scotland , Norway , Alaska and Chile is processed – cured and smoked   - at Three Streams in the Franschhoek Valley .
 
The fresh Scottish Salmon is flown in from the leading Scottish farm, Loch Duart, who pride themselves on sustainable production methods and have won numerous food awards.   You can certainly taste it in their fish!   Norwegian Salmon is also flown in twice weekly.   Wild Alaskan Salmon is sourced from a Marine Stewardship Approved fishery and naturally all our Franschhoek, Western Cape and Katse Trout are produced according to strict Best Management Practices (BMP).
 
Other Seafood including Yellow fin tuna, Black Tiger Prawns and Green New Zealand Mussels are all sustainably sourced and beautifully cooked and served at the SalmonBar.
-          OPEN from 8am for breakfast – lunch served all day and dinner from WED TO SAT till 9pm

Well presented meals, efficient service, and an ambient atmosphere. I highly recommend the Seared Tuna with apple salad, as well as their delicious range of desserts, especially their White Chocolate Cheesecake! The Salmon Bar Short is the perfect way to finish off your meal.

I highly recommend this restaurant!

Wonderful salmon, very great service, down a side way off the main street, great bread, salads, can buy thier bread and dressings, outdoor courtyard, very smart looking but relaxed atmosphere,
