The atmosphere, and decor, in the shop is cosmopolitan in theme. The environment is relaxing. Situated on 11th Avenue, the sidewalk tables make a pleasant change from shopping centre dining. Tea is steeped in tradition, glamour, style, sophistication and fun. Marisa wanted to create a space which is unique, homely, friendly, inviting and tranquil in Johannesburg. She is passionate about her tea and it shows.

I love Contessa, it's perfect for a quick, tasty, healthy lunch during a working day or for a long lazy breakfast on a saturday morning. Marisa is always friendly and welcoming and remembers me by name. I love the quirky decor.
