Haeundae Beach is a great place to attend sand festivals or the occasional mud festival. This is a great place to swim and sunbathe as long as it's before the beach technically opens on July 1st. After the beach opens, it is too packed to be enjoyed. It is nice that the Haeundae Aquarium is right on the beach and provides a nice cool place to take a break and enjoy some aquatic life. You can even swim with over 30 sharks in the shark tank. I loved swimming with the sharks, they were like big puppy dogs... it was a little scary but only trying to learn the right way to work the scuba gear, as this was my first attempt as scuba diving. :) The Haeundae area also has a lot of American restaurants like TGIFridays, The Outback, McDonalds, KFC, etc... If you are up for a night on the town, you can try U2 (a popular foreigner bar right off the beach,) or you can catch a cab and head to Thursday Party, or Vinyl (which are in the same area,) or try O'Briens, a great spot! Cabs are pretty cheap and you can usually get to where you want to go for around $2-$8.

This beach is one of the most well-known of Pusan because it is the nicer of the beaches, but if you want good seafood, this is not the place. It's overly touristy. For good seafood Korea-style, check out Gwangalli beach. For the really adventurous people, try the live octopus at the fish market.

A grotty beach by international beach standards, but the most relaxed place in Korea! People are nice, food is good, just chilled!
