I’d read about Cal Pep on various foodie boards and blogs, and wanted to try it. It lived up to my expectations; small place, long line to get a seat at the counter, lots of tourists, and rather good fish tapas. We were lucky enough to get in Pep’s section, so that was fun. No menu, just whatever he was feeding the tourists that day.

If I went back, I’d ask for less fried dishes, since they were good but not as much as the other things we tried. Stick to the fish and you will be happy. Not cheap, but I didn’t feel like I’d been taken to the cleaners, either.

Amazing food. Just sit at the bar and ask to sample a little bit of everything they serve! Go for the special Catalan dessert, I forgot the name but they will know what you mean!

great restaurant and sitting at the counter gives you the best show though you may have to wait standing.  Pep is the one with the raspy voice.
