The Johann is located quiet deep in the St. Johann Quarter in Basel. If you don't know that it is there, you would never look for a restaurant like this at that place.

What can I say, the cart changes weekly and there are allways new dishes. But there is no Menuecart, everything is written at the walls, which is quiet entertaining. Usualy the owner himself greats the guests and shows them to their table.

While you wait for your food you can drawn on special papersheets providet on each table, this can be quiet fun.

The food is extreamly delicious, and can not really be connected to a specific Countrykitchen.

Ok the place is not quiet cheap, but you will not be sorry for the money spend since it really is an experiance.
