Kaygetsu is a classic Japanese restaurant which specializes in Kaiseki dinners where multiple courses of seasonal ingredients are served. 2008 Zagat rates Kaygetsu as one of the top 10 restaurants in the bay area. We serve Kaiseki menu Wednesday through Saturday and ala carte and sushi menu is served on Tuesday and Sunday. You'll discover a whole new dimension of Japanese cuisine.

Came here for Katy's birthday. It's a pretty upscale place but I'm afraid the quality of the food (which was excellent) is a bit lost on me. I appreciated the presentation, the taste was great, but I couldn't get my head around $28 for lunch when I was still a bit hungry at the end. A piece of uni I think was something like $7? Katy said it was the best piece of uni she's ever had though, so I'm glad we came here :)

Went to Kaygetsu for a friend's birthday lunch and had their lunch special. Excellent, light fare with attentive service in a nice setting.
