Came here spontaneously for NY dinner with the roomies after not having made plans for NY's. I got their set menu and I have to say it was one of the most creative and delicious meals I've had in ages. I loved the presentation, loved the taste, and the whole process of eating felt like a mini ritual. Fun stuff! :)

First course was a fish tartare like dish that came on a small bamboo tray accompanied by a medley of dipping toppings. We had a utensil to scoop the fish and dip it into various toppings before then dipping it into the sauce

Second course was a phyllo-wrapped foie gras with eel roll topped with a fried shiso leaf.

Third course was my favourite - a veggie and waygu beef fondue. It was so much fun dipping things into my little fondue pot. I loved this one so much I tried to recreate it at home. Go for the original :)

Fourth course was stuffed squid with black squid ink gnocchi.

Fifth course was broiled lobster with 7 spices accompanied by a sweet creme fraiche dip. Yummy also :)

Next was a perfectly cooked piece of beef accompanied by beef cheek tempura.

After that came an assortment of nigiri sushi, all of which were of course really good. The proscuitto one was cute - it looked like it was wrapped in a mini bow tie.

All of this was topped off by dessert - a little box of churros to be dipped in spicy hot chocolate.

I can't wait to go back and see what else they do with their food presentation. Good thing they are a drive away in Napa or else I'd break the bank :)
