Upon opening in 2006, Bar Tartine (from the owners of the renowned Tartine Bakery) was named one of San Francisco magazine's "Top 10 Restaurants" in the city, their reputation growing steadily since. Located in the lively Mission neighborhood, this casual, chic 55-seat hotspot features dark wood, glowing sconces, a long Italian marble bar for drinking and dining, and sprays of fresh flowers lending it an intimate and lively ambiance. The menu reflects chef Jason Fox's travels throughout Spain, Morocco, and Portugal, while using our finest bay area farms and food producers. Grass-fed beef, local seafood and game as well as organic produce are hallmarks of the menu. Seasonal desserts top off a memorable meal with a cup of Blue Bottle coffee. The carefully chosen wine list features over 100 selections from around the world, and there are always at least 14 wines by the glass to choose from. Open for brunch on Saturday and Sunday.

Really is the best (low key) restaurant to eat in San Francisco. You would not know it if you even walked by it.
