Nov 14, 2008 Across from the University, the Frontier has been a staple in Albuquerque since the beginning of time. They are open 24 hours a day for most of the year and attract some of the most eclectic crowds anywhere in the world, but it all depends what day and what time one chooses to go. If you are writing a novel and need help with character sketches, or you just enjoy people watching for sport/hobby then the Frontier is a must stop location. They serve a large variety of New Mexican/American food, but there are a few items that one should try above all others. First and foremost, try the tortillas, they are the best Albuquerque has to offer and come as a side dish, but don't be bashful, order a dozen to go, you won't regret it, (but note that there are no preservatives, so either freeze or eat within 2-3 days). Second, the sweet role. It may not be the best in the world, but it is the best in Albuquerque. If you have a sweet tooth, do not miss out on this tasty treat. Third, the breakfast burrito. Breakfast burritos is one area where the Frontier has some stiff competition from local competitors, but for anyone not from the South West, this breakfast burrito will blow your mind. Forth and finally, the green chili stew. New Mexico is famous for its red and green chili peppers. If you can tolerate a little spice then have a cup or bowl of green chili stew, you won't be disappointed, I promise. Oh and a bonus item for the list, the fresh squeezed orange juice, mmmmmm fresh squeezed. So stop on by, between the people, the food, and the funky fresh decor, you'll be glad you gave it a try.
