Charleston in general is a freaking awesome place.
It really has a beautiful European feel to it, majorly because the old town center dates back to the 1700s.
The place to go at night in Charleston is East bay road and Market. A lot of nice little restaurants and cool bars packed with college students. Sullivans Isle is a 20 car ride away and offers a fairly good break, and during wintertime nice and steady winds. I can advise Charleston as being my favorite place in the US. ENJOY
