Tirana is Albania's largest city and capital.  Its location at an intersection point between Europe and Asia offers a fascinating blend of cultures and religions.  Check out relics from its Ottoman and Italian influenced past, soak in exhibits from the cultural museums, or stroll along the nice wide boulevards.  At night, see the city transform as many bars and clubs open for business.
Travel Tips from people who've been to Tirana
Loved the people of Albania, eventhough I had a few communication problems, they are friendly and helpsome. Start out at Skanderbeg Square (City Center), make your way to Ethem Bay Mosque and the Clock Tower and for sure go to the Museum and Opera House. Enjoy on of the (1000's it seemed to me) Cafe's. Great City in the Springtime.

Tirana is an amazing city!
I prefer to walk around watching the people on the street. You can be sure there are a lot of people around. I like to sit in the park watching people too. One of the best coffees (I mean cappucinos) you get at Tajvan. In Tajvan is a bowling center too, its not that cheap, but its fun! The best resteraunt I would recommend is "Floga" in Rruga Elbasanit.
Going out is great in Tirana too! Canon-Bar - I think that was the name of a small bar with great music to dance! But there are a lot of other cool bars. A bar which is quite expansive is Buddah-Bar (don't know if its written right!). If you want to have a look around Tirana go to Vodafone tower, upstairs its a bar, I think called Sky Bar. You can have a wonderful look, cause the whole bar is turning around in some minutes. But for that you have to have a good stomach, for me it is too fast, I get a bick sick!

Tirana is awesome - I was stuck in Italian hell for two weeks and escaped to Tirana for the weekend in a more sane country!  They were having the festival of Albanian beer and it was free beer for everyone.  Amazing - old ladies and little kids elbowing their way past me to the bartender to fill up their liter mugs - that was awesome!  And I love how the pedestrians have the right of way over cars who have to drive around them...  Of course very car in the country seems to have a mercedez steering wheel on their old Yugo and Lada and even crappier Chinese cars!
