A fantastic night market, selling all sorts of gifts, bags, clothes, sand paintings -highly recommend the sand painting stall, handmade jewellery and crockery. You will not starve here, there is meshwee (grilled meats) restaurants and fish restaurants (all fresh caught fish). Amazing food at amazingly cheap prices ... we paid around £20 for 6 adults and 9 children to eat at a meshwee restaurant.

If you have to spend a night here, as I did in 1974, and it is 90 degrees at 2 in the morning, here is a tip-- go into the bathroom and fill the bucket there with water from the tub or shower.. then flood your floor and put your mattress on the ground.. it'll cool things off a tad.

Just have a look at the restaurant that has sign "I have put my feet into the dish 50 years ago." Not to miss is a dinner at Hotel El-Aurassi for a look at the most spectacular bay in the world. Never take a taxi, unless really needed or if you're rich. They're too expensive because they don't charge you the usual prices, but whatever comes up on their minds.
