Andorra

At only 450 square kilometers, Andorra is a tiny country that packs in a lot to do for summer and winter tourists alike. Situated in the Pyrenees between France and Spain, Andorra is very mountainous, meaning that there are ample hiking opportunities in the summer, and fantastic skiing in the winter, where the season can last from December all the way through April. Main ski stations include Pas de la Casa-Grau Roig, Soldeu-Tarter, Pal and Arcalis. After you’ve had your fill skiing, stop in Caldea, one of Europe’s largest health spas with over 6000 square metres of thermal water, including large indoor and outdoor lagoons, Jacuzzis, and Indo-Roman baths. Andorra is also a popular shopping destination, due to its duty free status.

Get a bus schedule pronto! The country is so small that there aren't taxis, but catching the bus from one town to the next is easy.

Hah! Shopping! Andorra is the 'smuggling country', booze and cigarettes are much cheaper here than in let's say France. Put on your hiking shoes though, both times I was there in the summer, there was snow melting.

Loved this little miniput Country. Went for skiing but took a look at Casa De La Vall (Parliment) and went to Ordino to see The Casa d'Areny-Plandolit Museum, (tells about how the people lived in the early days). Go shopping for great discounts.

Il y a certainement des affaires à faire vu qu'il n'y a pas de taxe mais préparez bien vos recherche tout n'est pas moins cher!
Sant Julia de Loria, Andorra
Sant Julia is the first town you'll find after crossing the border from Spain to Andorra. No other choice if you want to get Andorra la Vella. The only interesting activity there is to visit shopping areas before you come back to Spain.
Andorra la Vella, Andorra
A really crappy European strip-mall on top of a Pyrenee. A long bus ride from Barcelona for nothing of any interest except the crazed duty-free shoppers from France and Spain looking for cheap booze and guns... And the horrible bus ride was a joke showing some american movie with Spanish dubbing that was completely useless to a non-Spanish speaker, and it was so loud you could not listen to anything on the iPod either. Don't waste your time for a passport stamp that you won't even get!
El Tarter, Andorra
Go skiing! It's really great there

Ok number one, make reservation for hotel before ariving... not so many options for hotels and it is much more popular than you think and it is very cold to be stuck in Andorra with no where to sleep. Secondly, did you know the whole country is a one big duty free shop? Ok and take a bus to the small cluster of houses (I´m not sure you should call it a village, as the whole country is just a small village) up in the mountain side and just have a walk down the narrow street and take a hike in the piranies mountains, it is so beauterful, one of the most beauterful places I´ve been to actually
Andorra la Vella, Andorra

Andorra la Vella, Andorra
Other than taking in the beauty of this region and the thrill of visiting a city-like separate country, people come to stock up on cheap booze here ... with several types and brands on sale and relatively (though only) inexpensive prices...
Pas de la Casa, Andorra
Crazy nights in Pas dela Casa with Camille Fozza!!!

Cigarettes are very very cheap.
Arinsal, Andorra
If you go to Arinsal for a skiing week I highly recommend hiring a locker in the ski shop at the bottom of the gondola for storing your gear for the week. It will save you dragging heavy ski boots and skis down the hill to whatever hotel you are staying in. It's not expensive either, just make sure you get it organised first thing in the week or they will all be gone.
