Anguilla, situated in the Caribbean near Puerto Rico, is one of the most northerly of the British islands. It has a very developed upscale tourist infrastructure, including golf courses, tennis, horseback riding, dolphin encounters, high-priced rental villas and luxurious resorts, as well as many celebrity homes. On the natural side, Anguilla is known for its spectacular coral reefs, beautiful sandy beaches, and the low-lying scrub bushes and sparse vegetation. This is in contrast to the lush vegetation seen on some of the other tropical islands in the Caribbean. On one of the many hikes or mountain biking excursions, it will actually be possible to see both coastlines at once due to the island’s narrow shape. While Anguilla has been quite commercialized, the island still retains its charm. See beautiful, intricate small churches, or flowering flamboyant trees littered through the territory. Look around, and you might see a goat or two – arguably the country’s national animal! In Anguilla, there are no major American franchise food chains, and the typical frenzy of duty free shops is thankfully absent.

Travel Tips from people who've been to Anguilla
Stayed at Cap Juluca for our honeymoon. The bell hop said it all as we arrived to the resort..."Welcome to Paradise!" White powdery beaches, bluest of blue water with St. Maartin in the backdrop, gorgeous accommodations and impeccable staff. Cool scented towels brought to you on the beach. Need a drink? Just drop your umbrella flag down, and a staff member will be over to assist. I wish I could live there. Enough said! Good tip? (0) One of the best, out of the way places, I've sayed at in the Caribbean was Shoal Bay Villas on Anguilla. Been there twice. My favorite room was located on the second floor, overlooking the Ocean out the front and looked out the back to the pool. Awesome! Good tip? (0) Cap Jaluca has the best beaches in the world. Seen most of them and this one tops the list. Good tip? (0) Recent Updates for Anguilla
