Best Time to Visit Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires, Argentina
The Buenos Aires bus at first glance seemed like a great way to save money.. in the entire 2 days that I paid for 90 Argintinean Pesos.. I used the bus twice.. first problem.. every second bus is spanish second problem.. the driver goes without giving you a chance to board third problem.. they dont have enough maps on board fourth problem.. you still have to walk a fair bit to get anywhere near the sights fifth problem... the bus is not exactly on schedule.. and last little hair raiser... they are very poor ambassadors for their city.. rude and unfriendly at times.. I did thought it best to start walking and just avoid the bus all together..
solution... take a cab to your furthest point.. and then use the bus to get back closer to our hotel.. reminder.. nasty crew... steal yourself for that one..
Also ... pack a good pair of walking shoes... you will be doing the miles in this town..

Buenos Aires Internet & Communications
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Hostal Carlos Gardel in San Telmo was for me the best hostal in the hole city... there are a lot of people from Southamerica itself. They have really friendly staff, Internet, good rooms, breakfast includet.
The price is good too. 36 Pesos for a shared room.
enjoy

Buenos Aires Visas & Permits
Buenos Aires, Argentina
The Invaluable Guia "T"

When you land at EZE and clear customs, immediately visit the information booth and pick up the Guia "T". You'll find a comprehensive map of Capital Federal and detailed maps of each barrio along with tourist destinations and places of interest. The route and stops for each of the over 200 collectivo (bus) lines and entire rail system are included and when properly used can save you loads of pesos over using taxies. This get-around guide fits in your back pocket and should stay there your entire trip.

Make sure you exchange some money at the airport (Ezeiza) as soon as you pass customs at the "Banco Nación" window. The rest of your money you can exchange it in downtown. There are a bunch of safe places to do so with good rates on Sarmiento street between Florida and Reconquista streets. DO NOT exchange money with any guy that is standing outside the entrance of any of the exchange bureaus. I do not recommend taking traveler's checks to Buenos Aires because it is very hard to find a place that accepts them. Cash ( US dollars and/or Euros) and credit cards are just fine.

Good place to organise a skydive if you want to do one. They pick you up at your hostel and drop you off again later once you're done your leap!

Tigre, Buenos Aires, Argentina
I stayed in Tigre and took the train almost everyday to Bs As. It was worth it. Seemed like I was going home. There is a good hostel next to the train station.
