On a recent trip to Iguazu Falls with Children, including two one year olds we inquired about boat trips that were safe for children.  No problems we were told - the boats are perfectly safe and comfortable for babies.  Ok - they are probably safe - the babies were issued with slightly too big life vests and that meant they were difficult to hold.  What wasn't mentioned is that you are driven underneath the waterfall - the whole idea of the boat trip is to put you under the fall - that's it, it isn't really a tour down the river - and you don't need to do it, in fact don't take any kid under 2 on it - they just get drenched and grumpy.  Kids can stay on shore and parent/s, etc can go if they wish - they sell it as a point A to B trip, but point B isn't really that far away walking.  So enjoy your views etc - the babies stay away from the boats!!!

You can stay between three countries and inside the jungle, while you're seeing the most wonderful falls in the world. You can go walking or pay a helicopter trip, it depends on your bravery and your money! If you decide to walk, you can take some beautiful pictures, and probably could know the curious little inhabitants of the place: the coaties. But the only thing they want of you is... Food! Then I recommend to visit Itaipú (in Paraguay), the biggest dam of the world (I'm not sure of it). It's amazing (at least if you are use to see too little water on your region...), and visit Parque das aves in Brazil, if you like animals and, specially, curious birds. Tucans are the nicest!
