i didn't follow footstep's(travelbook) advise and first went to a touristinformation center where the people explained me that prices raised alot in the last few years,luckely when i was leaving the center a local came up the me saying he had overheard our conversation and could offer me a bed and bathroom.Fernando didn't fail at all,one of my best stays in the salta region. Iruya is located between to mountains and a dried out river devides the city in 2(only in spring and summer its dry ofcourse)

very touristic...nice lil town but people look at you as if you're a piece of trash...the artesanal stuff that they try to sell you(read force on you) isn't from the regio(bolivia actually) and all looks the same
