Sandy Good tip? (0) Palm Beach, Aruba I want to start off by saying that Palm Beach is absolutely beautiful and one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to in the world (and I've been to quite a few) - gorgeous, fine, powder-white sand, amazingly blue water, great swimming (i.e. calm), however, what blew me away (almost literally) was the ever-present, extreme gusts of wind. Now, people talk about the lovely trade winds in Aruba, but in my humble opinion, these winds were/are actually pretty fierce - you have to tuck in your beach towels into the lounge chairs or you will be chasing them down the beach, no joke. You get sand blasted every few minutes and as much as I was dying to enjoy the beauty that is Aruba, and Palm Beach, the ever-present wind gusts made it really challenging to, unfortunately. If it wasn't for these mad trade winds, I would go back to Aruba in a heartbeat - something to consider - hope the tip helps =) Good tip? Sandy Good tip? (0) Aruba, Aruba Get off the beach for a day and visit the island's only national park: Arikok National Park on the rugged northern coast. Take a jeep or try hiking one of the many trails (but if you plan on hiking: take water, a hat/cap and sunblock! Good tip? (0) Oranjestad, Aruba What can be said besides wonderful beaches, wonderful dining, wonderful shopping. If you're an early riser, don't be alarmed to find the winds are strong in the AM. Eagle Beach is wonderful for sunning, Baby Beach is exquisite for snorkeling. Locals and tourist feed the fish as Baby Beach so grab a mask and enjoy the show just beneath the surface! Good tip? (0) Aruba, Aruba Iguana Joes was pretty good...
kayaking and snorkeling great... Good tip? (0) Oranjestad, Aruba Take a cab(day) trip around the Island with a snorkel stop on the party boat Midushi.... Good tip? (0) Oranjestad, Aruba Ah Aruba!! Sandy Good tip? (0) Oranjestad, Aruba This is one of the most gorgious cities in the world. Tropical yet modern and very peaceful!!! Not only do i say this because I was born there but you should really go check it out some day!! Good tip? (0) Aruba, Aruba Buy Jewelry in the reputable stores... but do some shopping at home first.. want to make sure you ARE getting a good buy Good tip? (0) Aruba, Aruba The Santa Ana Church in Noord has a handcarved wood (oak, I believe) altar. Gorgeous! Good tip? (0) Aruba, Aruba Wear sun block or sun tan lotion with a spf higher than 30 or you will roast and end up in the hospitial (Not fun at all) Good tip? (0) Oranjestad, Aruba Aruba is a boring stripmall transplanted from Minnesota or Iowa to the caribbean. I only go through there in transit to Maracaibo myself, and while I have overnighted several times, I am just amazed at why tourists from middle america would go to an overpriced TGI Fridays or Hooters in the Caribbean when they could just as easily do that at home... I guess they lie the square coins and do not mind that the government protected the murderers of that American high school girl... Good tip? (0) |
